Monday and Tuesday were some very good high cadence roller rides. I need to get out and run a bit, but I'm real happy with how my cycling fitness is returning. Maybe I won't have to struggle as much on the next camp weekend.
Monday 60 minutes of rollers
Tuesday 60 minutes of rollers
to get everything rolling again and catch up on the goings on. Last week was pretty decent with a couple of roller rides and a couple of runs. Each ride was an hour and each run was 30 minutes. Not the greatest follow-up to the weekend, but I was able to keep it moving in the face of a continued hectic work schedule.
Today was an excellent ride on the rollers for 60 minutes. Keeping it rolling.
Well, how many I'm back messages can one guy write..... I'm good for at least one more.
Last week, work finally let up enough for me to realize that I hadn't been taking care of me. That and the fact that even my fatboy pants were fitting a bit tight, uggh. Anyway, with my main deliverables on the work projects turned in, I can start focusing on my favorite subject again, me.
So I started off last week with two good starter runs, each of a little over 3 miles and taking 27 and 28 minutes a piece. Then my buddy Kurt calls me up and wants to get together for a training weekend. Of course, I have to oblige even though I KNOW its going to hurt. Kurt and his beautiful wife have been doing some monster training and I imagine are close to life best fitness (but I wouldn't tell him that). Anyway, we spent the weekend at my folks' place riding and running. It was awesome and I owe them big time for not putting too big a hurt on me.
Over the weekend we did two rides, one 45 miles and one 35 miles. I rode much better the second day, bu then again, we were keeping the pace closer to my fitness than theirs. We also had a really nice 45 minute run at Fort Parker State Park on the trails. It was a lot of fun, particularly since none of us knew where we were and were only mildly surprised when we came off the trail to see Kurt's Xterra in front of us.
Regardless, it was a fantastic way to kick off what I hope to be a very good training year culminating with Ironman USA Lake Placid.
